The sisters crossed nursed and raised their piglets: I couldn't even begin to tell you which piglet came from which mother from the very first 5 seconds of life. They all spent the next couple of months nursing (lots of that), sleeping (lots of that), rolling in mud puddles, and playing in the tall grass. At one point they were with the sheep, cattle, and goats all in the same field and what a beautiful sight to see all species napping together under the shade.

It's often we hear, and it is often we, too, are guilty of saying, "Gosh, how is it already 2015? How has another month gone by? Where did the time go? How are the kids growing so fast? Where did summer go?". The only constant in life is change, right? Time does go by faster and faster the older we get. Our lives on this planet are finite - not one of us knows if today is the last or thirty years from now. The great mystery of life.

So here we are in 2015...already.

Our final post on Instagram as the daylight kissed the night sky while we checked on the herd summed up 2014 for us (photo below) pretty well. It was a beautiful year and filled with more blessings and lessons and supportive community members than we ever could have anticipated. The year for us was a blur, speeding by as we grew our roots deeper in the soil, the Earth, our knowing of our life's journey - feeling like one standing on the outside of a merry-go-round watching all of the faces go past.

We do have a full plate, so to speak. Hundreds of animals under our care and lists of the day's tasks - all almost equally in level of priority - longer than we can accomplish and continually growing, but, to be honest, it is rare that we feel the pressure in all its enormity. It is rare that we feel as though we can't handle it because our hearts our full, we're following our intuition, and following signs of the doors that open - and close - to the next step and the next. We also get to be on this journey together which certainly helps. Folks make jokes, "Oh, how could you work with your husband/wife? I'd go crazy", "I'll bet she's cracking that whip", insert more ridiculous patriarchal quips {here} (ahem...aren't we all better than that, yet?), but what they don't realize is that there's none of that with us. We have a mutually respectful and love-filled marriage - even after 13 years together - and we've been fortunate enough to be able to farm side-by-side as friends, business partners, and spouses. We work together all day and look forward to seeing each other at the end of the day, too.

Together, we raise food. We raise food that nourishes and heals. We raise food that steps away from the conventional system. We raise food with sacred intent. We raise food with respect to the land and the purest gratitude for the animal. And at the end of the day, the words that mean the most to us from our customer and supportive community - near and far - is, "Thank you." Thank you for being an alternative, thank you for helping me heal my child, thank you for caring about the land, thank you for caring about the animals, thank you for the long hours and the minimal traditional paycheck, thank you for caring.

So we want to also thank you. Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for acknowledging our work. Thank you for trusting us to feed your families. Thank you for encouraging us. Thank you for allowing us the space to thrive, learn, and grow. Thank you for believing in our marriage and our business.

2015 will be a very big year - we have planted seeds in our hearts and we're excited to watch them grow. We hope you come along for the journey.

Wishing You an Amazing 2015,

Molly & Mike
